Old Florida Style Beach Cottage – Get The Look!
Hi Friends!
UPDATE: Unfortunately, this beautiful Old Florida beach cottage was destroyed in Hurricane Ian in 2022 and was eventually torn down. It was so sad to see this little bit of history go away.
A few years back I had the pleasure of visiting this charming Captiva Island, Florida cottage. Captiva is such a quaint old Florida village located West of Sanibel Island and connected by just a small bridge. I snapped a few pictures while I was there and I thought you might like to see how cute this quaint cottage really was. I have an affinity for all things interior design, so I wanted to share the beauty of this home with you, in hopes to inspire your own decorating ideas.
This vintage Florida beachfront cottage was built in the 1930s and was given a complete overhaul. The remodel was done with such care and really kept the cottage feel of the original.
I’ve linked similar items for you if you want to try to re-create this look in your home! Also, I’m diving in to a bit more about the Old Florida Design aesthetic and how you can bring this to your own home.

This style speaks to me. We had these types of furnishings when we were young. At that time, they were inexpensive, and easy to find, especially used, with a fresh coat of paint.
